One day he will pay a huge price if he doesn't get to know what a spotter is....this despite his strength.
BROZKNOWS: the price will be having to carry around 40" thighs.
Where's you’re spotter?
BROZKNOWS: the floor.
Lads put on some tunes..
BROZKNOWS: we train in a gym, not a disco.
People have told me I should wear a belt while lifting . In your experience , are there any benefits to using a lifting belt ?
BROZKNOWS: no, except you look like you know what you are doing.
Great depth, you might want to slow down the descent, also try looking at a spot 8 feet ahead of you on the floor instead of up at the ceiling
BROZKNOWS: great plan if you want to generate less power and miss more attempts. try to lift big before you offer advice.
Hey John, just a quick question concerning the hook grip. Do you think it is practical for everyone?
BROZKNOWS: yes. I actually use it when I drive.
Just a question. Didn't you go a little too deep and kinda fast? Doesn't this have a bad effect on the knees?
BROZKNOWS: contrary to conventional wisdom, going all the way down, ATG (ass to grass) is the most natural thing to do with your legs. Just today I watched my 1 year old niece grab a candle off a tall shelf and do a full squat. Literally until her butt was on the ground. And not because I coached her to. lol.
Coach Broz, what exactly is the reason for having your athletes do this kind of divebomb squatting (not my words) instead of using a slow eccentric phase? Is is to avoid muscle soreness in order to squat more often? (because I have heard of heavy and slow eccentric phases leading to greater soreness)
BROZKNOWS: Because it's all about "speed - hot, nasty, bas-ass speed" -Eleanor Roosevelt.
The "squat till u poop" aditute is great and stuff but we both know that many lifter's mistakes sometimes comes from over-doing it (talking from huge experiance here) in one point it becomes a mental barrier NOT TO hit the gym for me but im more into PL i dont know much bout oly lifting thats why i was curious. since i used to hit the gym 6 days a week and found out you actually get more gains from just 3-4 times a week.as a powerlifter
BROZKNOWS: "...but we both know..." Sorry, NO I don't know that. Personally, I've never made gains by NOT doing something.
